| I just got back from Chamonix
and used the Compagnie des Guides for off piste skiing. As
there were 6 in our party with two at a lower level we hired two guides
who were excellent. Three days of hard off piste skiing with
a different route each time and every time virgin snow to ski on. They
both had great knowledge of the area and were happy to ski all day with
only a 30 minute break for lunch, so good value when we had them from 9am
until 5pm in the evening.
They also took us on the
Vallee Blanche run which they charge 1280FRS for up to 4 people with additional
people only charged at 100FRS. Their daily rate was 1540FRS for up to 6
people. They also pick you up in a minivan which is great as
the buses in Chamonix can be a bit like London buses, none for 20 minutes
then all come at once.
