Your "Beyond Ski Instruction" Benefits

Congratulations… For having chosen Mountain Masters as part of your skiing enjoyment. You have skied with one of our instructors or mountain guides or had your alignment done by myself. Although this is pretty good by itself, as a Mountain Masters client you have access to benefits that will make you a better skier still. We will take you "Beyond ski instruction" into a world of maximum performance and enjoyment providing services for skiers and boarders at a level heretofore unknown in the ski industry.

Imagine a Martian landing at 9.00am in Val D'Isère's "front de neige" as ski schools are setting off. The Martian would see groups of pale skiers trying to meet up and follow tanned leaders in flash ski suits. These are called " ski instructors" and have big egos Martians are told. In Val d'Isère you will see 300 in red (ESF),70 in black and orange (Snow Fun), a dozen in purple and yellow (Top Ski) about 10 in green and purple (Alpine Experience), 5 or 6 in black red and yellow (Altimania), 11 in mango and black (Mountain Masters) plus others smaller ski schools. Regardless of their affiliations, instructors end up spending the day skiing with their clients anyway.

It is not easy for Martians to make constructive distinctions between different ski schools as they all cut lift cues as well. The Martian wonders what differences, if any, exist in following a red, green and purple or any coloured instructor for that matter, as they all look to be doing the same thing anyway. The visual clues outlining the differences between ski schools are not readily apparent to the untrained eye.

Looking at client's skiing behaviour after lessons doesn't always provide obvious answers as we often notice that:

What is this demonstrating?

It shows that on mountain tuition time is not enough to get the best from skiers.

Showing up at 9.00am at the base of the lift when only hours ago you where on the M25 doesn't guarantee that you are ready to tackle the mountain and do a personal best. Most ski professionals are satisfied with this and take you into lessons "as is" but in the long run, it is your holiday and your skiing that are suffering most.

We can do better

We are going to improve your skiing before you get on the mountain. Up until now ski professionals teaching techniques usually suggest one way or another for clients to work with their bodies, but show little or no techniques on how to work with your thoughts. Yet working with thoughts before working with the body is a technical issue too and the physical body cannot function if it not associated to its thoughts. Associating your body to thoughts that work well for skiing is what I call progress conditioning.

Progress conditioning! How does it work?

Great skiing starts with an attitude…you cannot throw yourself down the hill on day one of your holiday and expect miracles to happen without progress conditioning!

In this electronic newsletter programme you will be taken on a journey to higher levels of awareness. I will guide you to the required levels of perceptions to break free from plateaued performance. Your skiing actions are not created out of the blue; instead, you act out your behaviour on the perceptions that you have of events.Changing the perception will change the events. When you have the expert's perceptions, you will act like one too.

The message of this programme may challenge common belief at times, but will definitely bring your skiing in the right plane where progress happens, happens again and again… forever!

Skiers having done the programme have acquired skills 2.5 times faster than before. This means that properly prepared skiers achieved in two skiing days the progress usually obtained after five days of tuition for others. Their skiing had visibly improved and so had their confidence.

To find out how you will achieve these results, make sure you read the next issue of Ski with Passion, which will be released in September 1999.

It is already August and the season is just around the corner, booking tuition with Bernard Chesneau is best done now.
